Janani Suraksha Yojana

Objective:
To reduce maternal and child mortality, to increase the number of women giving birth in government health centers.

Beneficiaries:
Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and all pregnant women below the poverty line

Type of benefit:
If delivery occurs at home, Rs. 500/-,
If delivery occurs in a government or government approved health center –
a) Rs. 600/- in urban areas
b) Rs. 700/- in rural areas
Rs. 1500/- in case of cesarean section

The amount of this scheme is given to the bank account of the woman giving birth through DBT, PFMS.

Required documents:
MCP card and RCH number
Bank passbook of the pregnant woman
