Buldhana district consists of 13 talukas and the population of the district is 2232480. Industrial factories and no means of employment generation are available in this district. Therefore, dairy farming is a useful business to provide regular employment as an additional business to agriculture. Since livestock is a national asset, various schemes are implemented through the Department of Animal Husbandry for their protection and conservation and development. It mainly included schemes such as hybrid gopaidas program, disease prevention vaccination and disease control veterinary services, virus development program, poultry development program, milking animals to needy farmers from weaker sections, distribution of Yoli group, farmer training program etc.
